Challenge
Nestlé Europe sought a set of mockups to present their “Flat Belly Program” app concept in a proposal bid. The goal was to create a visually engaging and functional model that demonstrated the app’s structure, user experience, and potential to stakeholders.
Objectives
Nestlé’s main priorities included:
-
Stakeholder Buy-In: Create a compelling, user-focused app concept for expanding the Flat Belly Program to mobile.
-
Defined User Experience: Develop clear wireframes detailing user flows, content organization, and core functionalities.
-
Development Standards: Provide thorough documentation that future development teams could easily interpret and build upon.
Approach
As lead UX designer, I focused on creating a robust framework that captured the app’s essence:
-
Requirements Gathering:
Collaborated with Nestlé staff to draft a requirements document outlining essential functions, navigation, and visual elements.
-
Wireframing and Documentation:
Created a complete suite of wireframes to visualize core features like workout tracking, nutritional guidance, and progress monitoring, with extensive annotations to clarify user interactions and developer intentions.
Outcomes
The Flat Belly Program mockups delivered:
-
Stakeholder Alignment: The wireframes and detailed user flows were instrumental in Nestlé’s successful proposal, showcasing a polished vision for the app.
-
Scalable Framework: Comprehensive documentation ensured the design was easily adaptable for future features or updates.
Reflection
This project underscored the importance of detailed wireframing and technical documentation, especially in high-stakes proposals. Through careful UX planning and a user-centered approach, we successfully positioned the Flat Belly Program for a seamless mobile launch.
