Fiserv : Integrator Advance

As the UX design lead for Fiserv's Integrator Advance, I transitioned rough wireframes into a fully functional, user-friendly application. Initially hired as a consultant, I was later brought on full-time to ensure the project’s success.

Project Scope and Goals

The primary goal was to build Integrator Advance from the ground up, creating a marketing analytics platform for financial institutions to make data-driven decisions.

Design Contributions

  1. Overall UX Process Management : Took full control of the UX process, transforming initial third-party concepts into practical, implementable designs.
  2. Scalable Navigation System : Developed a navigation system supporting primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, optimized for both desktop and iPad (1024x768).
  3. Hierarchical Pop-Up Navigation : Created a pop-up navigation for database fields, simplifying user interaction through a hierarchical structure.
  4. Realistic Design Approach : Addressed edge cases not covered in the initial high-level designs, ensuring robustness and usability.

Collaboration and Tools

  • Team Collaboration : Worked closely with five Business Analysts using Skype/Teams for regular review meetings.
  • Prototyping : Used Axure RP for prototypes, and HTML/SCSS/JavaScript for complex interactions.
  • Documentation : Maintained a living design document, updated quarterly.

User Feedback and Iteration

  • User Involvement : Users voted on new features, with Product Owners prioritizing them.
  • Research Sessions : Conducted UX research sessions to validate and refine designs.

Impact and Outcomes

  • Timeline : Five years from my hire date to the release of the feature-complete software.
  • User Experience : Delivered a practical, user-friendly application addressing numerous edge cases.
  • Team Success : Led the UX design for a team of 25, contributing to a project requiring hundreds of thousands of hours.

Personal Growth and Reflection

Leading the UX design from concept to release was immensely rewarding and equipped me with valuable skills for future projects.
